Today in New England and all around the U.S.A., we are reminded of the tragedy of the bombing at the Boston Marathon. And I paused to think of what it means to be ‘Boston Strong’. Sure on the surface we all felt a connection to the city, even up here in Maine. We root for the Red Sox,the Celtics, the Bruins, the Patriots. We drive to fly out of Logan Airport or to the North End for cannolis at Mike’s. So even though we curse at the ‘massholes’ who invade our state in the summer, we all understood one thing – when tragedy strikes, we all band together as one. We are all New Englanders. All Americans. All human.
And on this day of the marathon, remember this – there is only one race. The human race.
